Drilling Machines Model 2P53

Portable radial drilling machines are to be installed near a workpiece or inside it.

The design of these machines allows the spindle to be set at any angle.

The 2E52 and 2K52 small-size portable machines are capable of machining holes within the radius of maximum spindle overhang. To machine holes at a greater distance, the machines have to be repositioned. Because of the presence of a T-slot plate the machine tools may be used as stationary machines.

The 2Ш55 and 2Ш57 larger machine tools have a saddle sliding over bed ways and thus eliminate the need of their repositioning during machining even large components like housings.

To machine superlarge or superlong components use is made of radial drilling machines moved over a long bed (2М57Д) or mounted on a truck moving on rails (2P53). With those machines the required machining operations are accomplished with the spindle in a vertical position.

To save electric power the machines are provided with an idling limiter.

The machine tools have been protected against spontaneous starting of the electric motor after a failure in the electric power supply.

A braking system quickly brings the spindle to a standstill when required.

The drill heads of these machines have a mechanism which automatically disengages the feed when the predetermined depth of cut has been reached.

The 2E52 and 2K52 portable machines consist of a plate with hinged shoes to add steadiness to the machine, stationary column, a barrel with a speed gearbox, mounted and moving on the column main drive motor and an arm turning about the horizontal axis, a drill head with a feed gearbox which turns in the plane of its mounting flange.

The spindle speed change over and the vertical traverse of the arm are controlled by a single lever located on the front of the barrel. The operational controls, such as the control of drill head traverse over the arm, fine feed handwheel, feed selector lever and the feed control lever are located on the drill head.

The electrical equipment is arranged in the barrel cavity at the rear of the machine. A push-button station is found on the front.

The 2Ш55 and 2Ш57 portable machine tools consist of a bed with flat ways and a saddle which carries a swivel column with a barrel and a sliding arm, a drill head with speed and feed gearboxes and a main drive motor. The drill head can be turned in the plane of its mounting flange. It can be tilted at different angles.

The spindle speeds and feeds are controlled with the aid of hydraulically operated preselective control unit.

The electrical equipment is arranged in the barrel cavity.

There is a pendant push-button station.

The movable components of the machine, such as the saddle, column, arm and the drill head can be swivelled and traversed either manually or by power both at a low and high positioning speeds. The movable components are clamped after positioning by means of hydraulic clamping devices.

The 2M57Д and 2P53 machine tools differ from the universal radial drilling machines in that their arm is longer and their column is mounted on a saddle or a truck which can be slowly or rapidly moved.
