The role: Business Associate Intern

As a Business Associate Intern, you could be placed in a variety of different departments. As each department may require different skills and experience, our intern recruitment team will work out where you may fit best based on your CV and the preferences you indicated to us with the application form. Internships are available in a wide array of business fields such as Sales and Customer Service in SMB or LCS, Enterprise, Finance, People Operations (HR), Legal, Product Quality Operations, Marketing, gTech and the Africa Internship Programme. Duration and start date vary depending on the position.

Being an intern at Google means you will be a fully integrated member of our business team. You will receive ongoing mentorship and training, and will have a manager assigned to you with whom you’ll work closely to identify project goals and professional development opportunities. In addition, you will participate in a structured program of educational and social activities to ensure you have a productive experience at Google that helps you grow both your personal and professional skills.

Responsibilities:

• Drive your own project with input from the team, present results and make recommendations.

• Develop new collateral using industry, marketing, and third-party research.

• Apply your analytical and creative skills to improve internal processes and provide outstanding support to internal or external client groups or users.

• Develop smart, integrated, research-based proposals and presentations to enhance Google's reputation with clients as a consultant and partner.

• Create tools or automate workflows in order to increase efficiency and liaise with cross-functional teams to scale new processes, measure impact and make adaptations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Students with a Bachelors/ Masters degree in progress. To be eligible, students need to return to full-time education after the internship. Priority given to applicants graduating late 2013 or during 2014.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous internships in account management, marketing, customer services, technical support, programming, sales or consulting.

• Superior analytical skills that include the ability to see granular as well as big picture issues and strong project management, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

• Hands-on approach and the willingness to take responsibility and to make an impact.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

• For some of the more technical roles, knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, HTML or Python preferred.

• Fluency in English, as well as an additional language for some of the roles.
