Feed [v T] Example: Have you fed the cats? I couldn’t come to the phone, I was feeding the baby. Feed sb on sth: The milking cows are fed on a very rich diet. He has to feed a family of four on 10 a day. Feed sb sth – Feed the patient a little tea and dry toast at first. Feed up – to give food to a person or animal in order to make them fat or because they are not eating enough [phr vT] Feed sb/her/them etc up: When I go home during the holiday my Mum always feeds me up.
