Conclusions. The further away from England, the wider the fame of “Alice” spreads from English language, so this fame becomes less specific

The further away from England, the wider the fame of “Alice” spreads from English language, so this fame becomes less specific, but more cold. The first reason is translations. So, Alice travels around the globe, and the spirit of the book stays at home - in England. The second reason is the area and the time. Many details are not existed now. Of course, there are a lot of them in any work. And finally, it’s a very special paradoxical nature of this book. The main paradox in the fate of “Alice " is that this children's book eventually attracts adults, not children. Books have another fate mostly: they become “for children” from " for adults", exhausting their meanings that were main attractive forces of the book. " Adults" often fall into childhood. This book, written by Lewis Carroll, is a rare and almost the only significant case of so-called «ageing" of a book. [1, p.96]

With the advent of the new century Carroll’s fairy tales receive new understandings. It becomes clear that the scope of their impact is very broad. Famous writers recognize their duty to Carol, his fabulous images penetrate more and more into literature " for adults" and high poetry, his neologisms are included into dictionaries and everyday English speech, critics speculate about it, he G. K. Chesterton and Walter De la Map, Virginia Wolf Robert Graves dedicated their works to L. Carroll. In English-speaking countries Carroll’s tale takes one of the first places on the frequency of citations and references.

In the middle of the XX century Carroll’s tales found deep, natural and philosophical implications. Mathematics and physics, psychologists and historians, philosophers and logicians use them. They find a lot of material for their special thoughts in them. Unusual fate of the tales about Alice reflects the extraordinary nature of their creator, and he proposed the genre, as well as the specific historical and literary contexts. Books have their fates, they find their meanings sometimes very far from the subjective intentions of the author, becoming a part of new historical buildings. Sometimes they play an unexpected role in the literature of the future.

In conclusion, we would like to mention the main features of the translation and the analysis. The analysis of literary translations is a difficult task. The fact is that a researcher, as well as a translator, have to overcome a lot of obstacles, because of the lack of a single, universal principles of comparison. Without such principles, the scientific analysis of the translation becomes extremely subjective.

The comparison of literary works, and especially the works of Lewis Carroll seemed to us very interesting, especially because the language is full of different secrets and interesting facts. It is not fully learnt and that, on the one hand, creates a lot of difficulties, but on the other hand it allows translators to have more creative approach to work and makes it more interesting. The analysis of Belarusian and English versions of " Alice" proves that our languages have common features due to the same laws of human thoughts. We think that it was the most difficult thing to translate proper names. They are a kind of signs that must be transmitted translated. Vera Burlak made a big work to bring the Belarusian reader to one of the treasures of world literature. In our work we have attempted to examine the means and methods of translation of proper names, to identify the pros and cons and draw some conclusions. In our opinion, despite some shortcomings, the translator made this book accessible and understandable to Belarusian readers.
