What is ISO?

In the 90-ies of the last century, the international community has entered a new stage of development of quality management - quality planning.

The main challenge faced by manufacturers of products and services at this stage - complete customer satisfaction.

This trend is reflected in the new version of the standard ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9000 family.

ISO - is an international Organization for Standardization, is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies).

The purpose of ISO - development of principles of standardization and design based on these standards that facilitate integration processes in the different areas and activities.

ISO standards are developed together in the family. To ISO 9000 - a series of standards ISO, which are used in the creation and improvement of the quality management systems of organizations and enterprises.

o ISO ISO 9001. It contains a set of requirements for quality management systems. The current version - «ISO 9001: 2008. Quality management systems. Requirements. "

o ISO 9000. Glossary of the management system, a set of principles of quality management. The current version - «ISO 9000: 2005. Quality management systems. Fundamentals and vocabulary ".

o ISO 9004. It contains guidelines for achieving sustained success for any organization in a complex, demanding and constantly changing environment, through the use of an approach from the perspective of quality management. The current version - «ISO 9004: 2009. Managing for the sustained success of the organization. An approach based on quality management. "

o ISO 19011. The standard describes methods of auditing management systems, including quality management. The current version - «ISO 19011: 2011 Guidelines for auditing management systems."

The Russian version of standards:

GOST ISO 9000-2011 - an analogue of the ISO 9000: 2005 (prepared by the Open Joint Stock Company " All-Russian Research Institute for Certification" (JSC " VNIIS") through the use of GOST R ISO 9001-2008)

GOST ISO 9001-2011 - an analogue of the ISO 9001: 2008 (prepared by the Open Joint Stock Company " All-Russian Research Institute for Certification" (JSC " VNIIS") through the use of GOST R ISO 9001-2008).

One of the most important aspects of these standards is their versatility, their use by enterprises of different ownership forms. They all contain standards and requirements to be met by the quality management system, regardless of whether it is certified or not. For these purposes the International Standards ISO 9000, ISO 9001, ISO 9004 GOST R ISO 19011-2012 used as a governing organization and conduct of audits.
