Make up a letter from a Russian importer to a foreign company, the Seller of the goods, concerning the terms of transportation. Follow the plan: Ø refer to the subject of negotiations; Ø state your ideas of transporting the goods and specify the basis of delivery offered by you; Ø inform the Seller about special packing requirements; Ø ask for an urgent reply and don’t forget about a complimentary close. FOCUS 8. Role play. Hold negotiations between the Buyer, a Russian company, and the Seller, a foreign company, concerning guarantee, inspection and delivery-acceptance of the equipment according to the following plan: Ø discuss the Guarantee clause of the contract to be signed; Ø stipulate the inspection by the Buyer’s representative of the progress of the order and the tests of the equipment; Ø specify the documents fixing the results of the tests; Ø specify the place of the final inspection (e.g. the works of the consignee); Ø stress that the results of the tests will not prejudice the Buyer’s rights under the guarantee.
