Предлоги направления

При указании направления движения предмета или лица (where? Куда? Where from? Откуда?) используются следующие основные предлоги:

The plane is flying from London to Moscow. (from…to – из…в)

It took only 5 minutes to get from the railway station to your house. (From… to – от…до)

Slowly the train moved into tunnel. (into – в)

A boy rushed out of the bus and ran towards the hotel. (out of – из, towards – к)

Task 2. Put the right Preposition:

1. We went …gallery to enjoy the paintings.

2. Tourists get…the taxi and go…the monument

3. Many people travel …train. It is safety.

4. They went …one side of the city …the other very quickly.

5. The students wait for the guide …the bus.

Условные предложения 2 и 3 типа

Вы уже знакомы с условными предложениями 1 типа. Они выражают реальное условие.

If the weather is fine, we shall go for a walk on the Volga Embankment.

Если погода будет хорошая, мы будем гулять на волжской набережной.

Условные предложения 2 типа выражают нереальное условие, но возможно выполнимое.

If the weather were fine, we should go for a walk on the Volga Embankment.

Если бы погода была хорошая (сегодня, завтра), мы бы гуляли на волжской набережной.

Условные предложения 3 типа выражают нереальное условие, уже неосуществимое.

If the weather had been fine, we should have gone on the Volga Embankment.

Если бы погода была хорошая (вчера), мы бы гуляли на волжской набережной.

Task 1. Put the proper Tense Form. (Раскройте скобки, употребляя нужную форму сослагательного наклонения).

1. Motorist A: Am I on the road for Epsom?

Policeman: Yes, sir. If you (go) straight on, you (be) there in twenty minutes. But wait. If you (go) to Epsom, will you take my mother-in-low too?

2. Motorist B: Am I on the right road for Epsom?

Policeman: No, sir. If you (follow) the road you are on now, you (be) going in the opposite direction.

3. Friend, at Epsom, to Motorist A: You got here without any difficulty, I see. If you (ask) the policeman at Sutton to direct you, you (be) very wise.

4. Friend, at Epsom, to Motorist B: You were on the wrong road. If you (take) that road, you were going right out of your way. And if you (go) on in that direction, you (never, get) here.

5. Motorist B to Motorist A: Why didn’t you wait for me? If you (wait) I (not take) the wrong road. How did you find the way so easily?

6. Motorist A to Motorist B: Well, for one thing, I follow the sign posts. If I (do) that, I seldom get lost. Then If I (be) in doubt, I ask a policeman. If (be) you, I (follow) the red buses on your way back.
