• Inspect each bearing of upper and lower crankcases for any
damage. 
•

09900-22301: Plastigauge
NOTE:
Do not place the plastigauge on the oil hole, and do not rotate the sha ft when plastigauge is in place.

Crank journal bearing oil clearance
Standard: 0.012 - 0.036 mm (0.0005 - 0.0014 in)
Seivice Limit: 0.08 mm (0.0031 in)
• If the width at the widest part exceeds the limit, replace the set of bearings with new ones by referring to the selection table.
•

Check the corresponding crankcase journal I.D. code num
ber CD, " A" or " B" which are stamped on the rear of upper crankcase.
• Check the corresponding crankshaft journal O.D. code number ®, " A", " B" or " C" which are stamped on the crankshaft.
