INSPECTION

The water t hermo-switch m ust be checked for its tem perat u re­

i n i ti ated closi ng action at the specification va l ue of 117°C (243° F) by testi ng i t at the bench as shown i n the i l l ustration. Con nect the swi tch to the pocket tester a nd raise the tem pera­ tu re of the oil i n the pa n, and read the col u m n thermometer when the swi tch cl oses.

Do not forget the new 0-ring.

Tighten i ng torq ue

Water thermo-switch: 9.0 - 14 N·m

(0.9 - 1.4 kg-m, 6.5 - 10.0 l b-f t)

CAUT I ON:

Take special care when ha nd l i ng the water termo-switch. It may cause damage if water thermo-switch gets a sharp im pact. R eplace the 0-ri ng with a new one.

INSPECTION

Test the cool i ng fa n d ri ve motor for load cu rrent wit h a n a m meter con nected as shown i n the i l l ust ra ti on.

The vol tmeter is for maki ng su re that the battery appl ies 12 vol ts to the motor. Wi th the motor with electric motor fan ru n ni ng at f u l l speed, the am meter shou l d be i nd icati ng not more tha n 5 a m peres.

I f the fa n motor does not tu rn, replace the motor assem bl y wi th a new one.
