Pharmacokinetics

The drug rapidly absorbs, its protein binding is low. The maximum blood concentration reaches in 3 hours. The haif-life is 3-4 hours. It is virtually excreted by the kidneys as a metabolite (2-hiridilacetic acid) within 24 hours.

Indications

Treatment and prevention of vertigo of vestibular origin.

Syndromes, including vertigo and headache, tinnitus, progressive hearing loss, nausea, and vomiting.

Meniere's disease/syndrome.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.

Precautions

The drug should be used with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulcer. Patients with pheochromocytomand bronchial asthma should be regularly observed during the treatment.

Pregnancy and lactation

There are scarce data to evaluate the effect of the drug during pregnancy and lactation.

Dosage and administration

Orally, during a meal.

10 mg 15 mg

Doses; 1-2 tablets; ½ -1 tablets

Administrations thrice daily thrice daily

An improvement is usually noted just within the first days of therapy; a steady-state clinical effect develops after two weeks of treatment and may increase during several months of treatment. Treatment is long.

The duration of treatment should be determined on an individual basis.

Side effects

Gastrointestinal disturbances There are rarely reports on skin hypersensitivity reactions(rash, itch, urticaria), Quinckes edema

Overdosage

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting. Convulaons tane been reported when a dose of 728 mg is used.

Effect on the ability to drive a car and operate mechanisms

The drug does not show any sedative effect or affect the ability to drive a car and operate machines and mechanisms.
