Today there are a lot of social problems nowadays. Marriage has declined and the divorce rate has risen resulting in an increased number of single mothers.

The drug use has dramatically increased in the post-soviet period due to lack of enforcement and increased drug availability. What’s more, the Russians drink a lot of alcohol.

The number of homeless people has increased immensely during the last decade. Unemployement and underemployment have also reached crisis proportions.

There are a lot of disabled people who can’t work and pensioners who get scanty pension. They can rely only on charity for their health and welfare- the state should provide it.

Charity is quite popular nowadays. On the whole, charity means voluntary giving of help to those who are in need. Charitable giving can include the act of giving money, goods, time, attention and kindness to the unfortunate. There are so many charitable organizations in the world today. They allow people to donate either directly or online, through websites. However, true charity doesn’t only mean giving out money and unwanted items to others. True charity starts with a kind word given by you to someone on a bad day, with a sincere smile and with love.

These are the cases when charity helps. If everyone made charity a part of their life and helped those who are in need, the world would become a better place to live.
So there are a lot of problems for us to us and the government should try to improve the situation. But I’m sure we should start with ourselves.

Today many people are involved in charity, some want to look virtue in the eyes of others. And a lot of famous people are involved in charity, some want to become more famous, some really want to help.

Not so long ago African model Iman swathed in peasant robes for one photograph, sporting jeans and casual shirt for another. Such are the Ladies Bountiful of the global village beautiful, monied, internationally mobile. There's glamorous Cher who just off to distribute supplies. There's the lovely Marie Helvin, who sponsors " foster children". Cindy Crawford worries her gorgeous head about political oppression. Others are concerned about the rain forests and adoption of children.

So Fashion com passion has its place and the celebrity involvement does draw public attention to terrible situations. Charities large and small have been quick to perceive the importance of television and newspapers in getting the funds rolling in and therefore of snapping up the most influential faces.
