THE VERB FORMS.

There are four forms of the verb (except modal verbs) in the English language that

can be used separately or come together and become connected with the verbs “to be” or “to have”: to be + ing, to have been +ing, to be + 3ô.ãë., to have+3ô.ãë Their names are:

a. the Infinitive (íåîïðåäåëåííàÿ ôîðìà ãëàãîëà)

b. the Past Simple (ôîðìà ïðîøåäøåãî âðåìåíè)

c. the Past Participle (ïðè÷àñòèå ïðîøåäøåãî âðåìåíè)

d. the Present Participle (ïðè÷àñòèå íàñòîÿùåãî âðåìåíè)

B. Astronomers will start the first programme of observations with the 25 million pounds William Herschel Telescope, the most powerful in the world.

Its specially arranged 4.2 metre mirror and new electronic detectors invented by

scientists at British university and the Royal Greenwich Observatory, give the telescope a great light-gathering power and ability to record images.

It stanza at 2, 400 metres on La Palma in the Canaries, the third British-built telescope to be commissioned at one of the finest sites known for astronomy.

Professor Alec Boksenberg, director of the Royal Greenwich Observatory said:

‘ The new telescope will enable the astronomers to survey the observational borders of the universe.’
