• Changing between the high speed and low speed cam in the variable valve timing/lift mechanism is controlled on the basis of the engine speed and gear position conditions.

1ISignal generator

• The signal generator produces the engine rpm signal.

2) Gear position switch

• The gear position switch detects the current gear position.

3) lgnitor unit

• The ignitor unit determines the appropriate timing for the system on the basis of engine rpm and gear position and sends ON/OFF signal to the solenoid.

4) Solenoid

• Based on the signal supplied from the ignitor, the solenoid operates the spool valve and changes the oil pressure circuit for the actuator assembly.
