HI side valve clearance (cold)

Inlet side: 0.10-0.20mm (0.004-0.008 in)

I A CAUTION I

When the HI side valve clearance is found to be within the specification, check the sub rocker arm play. (See page 24.) If the measurement is out of the specification, perform the sub rocker arm shim adjustment.

• Turn the rocker arm shaft clockwise using the special tool (Rocker shaft turning wrench) all the way until it stops.

NOTE:

To slide the rocker arm, apply force to the base of sub rocker arm using a nose pliers.

• Sub rocker arm shims CD and ® (two places)

•

• Replace the shim referring to the sub rocker arm shim selection table. (See page 28.)

•

• In this condition, pull the special tool (Rocker shaft turning wrench) axially and the rocker arms for two cylinders will side together with the rocker arm shaft so that the rest of two sub rocker arm shims can be replaced.

• Sub rocker arm shims @ and @

•

• Replace the shim referring to the sub rocker arm shim selection table. (See page 28.)
