The actuator rack.

Actuator bolt: 7.0 N·m (0.7 kg-m, 5.0 lb-ft)

• After completing the actuator assembly, check that the rocker arm shaft can take both LO and HI positions with the shaft turned.

Low position Hi position

• Turn the crankshaft to the position where #1 and #4 pistons come to TDC.

• Align the TDC mark d) (Arrow mark) with the crankcase protrusion ®·

• Identify the camshaft by stamped letter.

• Intake camshaft...... IN

• Exhaust camshaft.... EX

I A CAUTION I

Take care not to allow the crankshaft to turn.

•

• Position the exhaust camshaft with its alignment line on the end face pointing forward of the engine and parallel with the cylinder head cover mating face.

• Position the exhaust camshaft so that the arrow marked " i1" on the cam sprocket points the plane of the cylin­ der head upper face and engage the cam chain with the

cam sprocket.

• Assemble the intake camshaft.

• Count the 24th roller pin starting from the first pin im­ mediately above the arrow marked " i2" on the exhaust camshaft sprocket. Engage the cam chain with the in­ take cam sprocket with the 24th roller pin aligned with the arrow marked " i3" on the intake cam sprocket.

• Install the camshaft holders.

• Identify the camshaft holders by the code (®@ © ©)

shown and assemble them referring to the photograph.

I A CAUTION I

Take care not to allow the crankshaft and exhaust cam­ shaft to turn.

• Install the oil pipes CD and ®·

•

• Fit the washers above the oil pipe joints.

Camshaft holder tightening bolt: 10 N·m

(1.0 kg-m, 7.0 lb-ft)

Cam chain tensioner adjuster: 7.0 N·m

(0.7 kg-m, 5.5 lb-ft)

• Return the push rod using a plain screwdriver.
