A new hobby.

1. One Sunday morning Julie got up late. It was Sunday and she had a lot of free time. She had breakfast and watched TV. She thought, " It's boring." She looked at the bookcase. Julie liked reading very much. There were lots of books on the shelves: her favourite book of stories about animals, books of fairy-tales, some magazines and a book of fables from the school library. She opened the book and began to read. " No, not now, " she thought and closed the book.

2. Then Julie took a magazine for girls. She usually opened it at the last page with crosswords. She was very good at doing crosswords. She sat on the sofa and started writing in the words. " Oh, it's difficult, " she thought.

3. Suddenly Julie remembered her collection. She had a very big collection of shells and pebbles. They were in a big box. " Where is the box? Oh, here it is." She opened the box and took the biggest shell. It was beautiful. She listened to it, " The sea! I'd like to go to the seaside! " The shell was a present from her friend Tom.

4. " Oh, I know. I can phone Tom. We can play together." She phoned her friend Tom. " Hello, Tom! Can we go to the cinema? A good film about dinosaurs is on, " she said. " I'm sorry, Julie, " Tom said, " I'm going to the zoo. Every Sunday we clean the cages and feed the animals there." Suddenly Julie had an idea. " Can I help you at the zoo? " she asked. " Why not? " said Tom. " Let's go together! "

5. There was a lot of work at the zoo. The children cleaned the cages and fed the horses, zebras and giraffes. After that they played with little animals. Then they helped a little boy to find his dad. Julie was happy. She said, " Can I come next Sunday and help you again? " " Of course, you can! " said Tom.
