І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення (10 хв) 1. Привітання. 2. Повідомлення мети уроку. Today we are going to continue to discuss career choices and will listen to a dialogue of Alice and her mum. You'll also have an incredible experience in working with English proverbs.
3. Перевірка домашнього завдання.
4. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу. a) Формування фонетичної компетенції. Rhyme and Reason. SB p. 177, CD 2, track 11 Listen to and read the lyrics of the song and practise the sounds /аз/ and /au/. b) Активізація лексичного матеріалу. Communication Box: How to discuss career choices. CD 2, track 10, SB p. 176 Учні прослуховують слова на диску.
II. Основна частина уроку (30хв) 1. Формування аудіативної компетенції. а) Формування крос-культурної компетенції. Work Your Wisdom! SB p. 180 (a) Copy the table in your workbook. Match the parts of the proverbs and explain their meanings.
Learning is a treasure which accompanies its owner everywhere. Hard work pays off in the future laziness pays off now. It's never too late to learn. Jack of all trades and master of none. Two heads are better than one.

Work Your Wisdom! WB p. 86 Choose a proverb from the box to respond with in these situations and account for your choice.

Mum: And how do you feel? Alice: A little scared and excited too. The scary part is leaving home and moving to college. Mum: Oh, leaving home is part of growing up. You are so good at writing. Have you thought of becoming a journalist? Alice: I am a little uncertain. Making decision is so difficult! Mum: Indecision is a problem. But why not try, at least? You've written so many wonderful film reviews and editorials. I think it's your cup of tea. Alice: I've been thinking about it. Do you think I'll fit in it? Mum: Sure. Work for it! Alice: Thank you, mum, for hearing me out. I knew it would be great to talk with you. You always keep an open mind and are so understanding. Mum: You are going to be fine, dear.
