Cylinder head
CAUTION: Be su re to identify each removed part as to its location, and lay the parts out in grou ps designated as " No. 1", " No. 2", " Ex haust", " Inlet", so that each will be restored to the origi nal location d uri ng assem bly.
* When removing the rocker arm shaft, remove the rocker arm shaft set screw CD and plug ®, screw a 6 mm bolt into the rocker arm shaft end and pull it out. * Removal of valves completes ordinary disassembling work. If valve guides have to be removed (for replacement after inspecting related parts) carry out the steps shown in valve guide servicing. * * Tighten the set screw CD and plug ® to the specified torque. Tightening torq ue Set screw CD: 8 - 10 N·m (0.8 - 1.0 kg-m, 6.0 - 7.0 lb-f t) Pl ug ®: 25 - 30 N·m (2.5 - 3.0 kg-m, 18.0 - 21.5 lb-f t)
• 09916-14510: Valve lifter 09916-14910: Valve lifter attachment 09916-84510: Tweezers
• • Pull out the valve from the other side.
R emove the carbon deposits. Check the gasketed surface of the cylinder head for distortion with a straightedge and thickness gauge, taking a clearance reading at several places indicated. If the largest reading at any position of the straightedge exceeds the. limit, replace the cylinder head.
